Blue Ridge is 0-3 against Gunter since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Blue Ridge Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Gunter Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Blue Ridge was fully in charge, breezing past Howe 56-16 at home.
Meanwhile, Gunter put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Leonard onto the board and left with a 63-0 win. Gunter pushed the score to 56-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Leonard had no chance of recovering from.
Walker Overman went supernova for Gunter, rushing for 59 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Easton Overman and his 89 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Gunter's victory.
Blue Ridge's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Gunter, their victory was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0.
Blue Ridge took a serious blow against Gunter in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 49-0. Can Blue Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
