It was a good run, but the Trego Golden Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 35-28 to Phillipsburg. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Trego has scored all season.
Trego lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Reece Smith, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Avery Ziegler was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Trego's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Phillipsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Trego will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Plainville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Phillipsburg, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hoisington at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Hoisington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Friday.
