Suburban recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Suburban this week, Nordonia beat Revere 49-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Knights.
The Minutemen fell to Nordonia 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Bobby Clark provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Tallmadge bested Cloverleaf. Clark's key target this week was Steve Taylor, who caught 2 passes for 22 yards.
Clark was a force in the backfield as the Blue Devils beat the Colts.
Garrison Flora threw for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 14-28 with 1 interception.
Flora put up the best numbers in passing as Cloverleaf fell to Tallmadge. Flora's favorite target this week was Austin Smith, who caught 6 passes for 142 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Bob Lake's team's Flora and Smith have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Flora has thrown for 1,221 yards this season, while Smith has 32 catches for 545 yards. Clark from Joe Vassalotti's team leads the league in rushing with 1,014 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Jeff Fox's team and Highland. The Knights comes into the matchup ranked 23rd in the state, while the Hornets ranks 21st.
The Colts' Devin Cunningham needs only 93 yards against Revere next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 158 carries Cunningham has put up 907 yards this year.
The Blue Devils led Suburban in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Cloverleaf. Clark ran for 349 yards in the win.
