After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Douglass, the Overton Mustangs were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Alto 65-31 on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Overton considering their eight-point performance the matchup before.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Overton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamiya O'neal, who scored 17 points along with nine steals and five assists. O'neal hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Catherine Delane was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
The victory got Overton back to even at 12-12. As for Alto, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Overton will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Enterprise at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Enterprise is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Alto, they will head out on the road to take on Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglass is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
