Basketball Recap: Parker Skates Past Mohave Accelerated with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parker). They took their matchup on Monday with ease, bagging an 86-54 win over the Mohave Accelerated Patriots. The Broncs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 32 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Mohave Accelerated saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Drake Knight dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, Knight is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian David, who posted six points.

The victory (which was Parker's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. As for Mohave Accelerated, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Parker will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Yuma Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Mohave Accelerated, they will be taking part in a tournament against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season.
