Cumberland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zack Harmon, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Reed Miller, who scored nine points.
Cumberland has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Nokomis, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Cumberland won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pana at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Pana is ranked 546th, while Cumberland is ranked 569th). As for Nokomis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincolnwood at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
