Frenchtown is 0-3 against Polson since April of 2024 but things could change on Friday. The Broncs will take on the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Polson will be up against a hot Frenchtown squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went the Broncs' way against St. Ignatius on Thursday as they made off with a 12-1 victory.
Brady Sypolt looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, Cash Mickey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Day, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Polson never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past Browning 22-0. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Runnin Indians: they've now won five in a row.
Brayson DuMont was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Case Cox, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Carson Emerson was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Polson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Frenchtown's record now sits at 12-1. As for Polson, their record is now 7-5.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Frenchtown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Polson struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Frenchtown couldn't quite get it done against Polson in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 4-1. Can the Broncs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
