The Corinth Holders Pirates can finally bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They slipped by Carrboro 83-82. Corinth Holders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Corinth Holders' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Sandaire, who scored 25 points. Sandaire continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Rocco Mazzeo was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
Corinth Holders' victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9. As for Carrboro, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Vance County the next time they take the court. Corinth Holders will head out to face Vance County at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Carrboro will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
