The Holy Trinity Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Hancock Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Holy Trinity came out on top against Westmont on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Tigers never let the Sentinels get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Sentinels: they've now won three in a row.
Matt Diaz and Noe Hernandez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Diaz pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Hernandez didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Diaz also tossed a walk, which is notable because Holy Trinity is 8-3 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7-1 otherwise. At the plate, Diaz went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Hernandez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Diaz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Mota, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Holy Trinity is undefeated when Mota posts two or more runs, but 7-10-1 otherwise.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Hancock and Goode STEM Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles blew past the Knights 13-2 on Tuesday.
Laith Ahmad looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Hancock got a big performance out of Ryan Ostrowski, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emiliano Leon, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Holy Trinity's record is now 14-10-1. As for Hancock, their record now sits at 12-9-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Holy Trinity has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hancock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Holy Trinity got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Hancock by a conclusive 19-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
