Basketball Recap: Jayden Janis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cornerstone Charter Academy over North Bay Haven Academy

After flying high against Liberty last Tuesday, Cornerstone Charter Academy came back down to earth. The Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks fell 49-42 to the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers on Thursday.

Cornerstone Charter Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Janis, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Janis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Jervis, who put up ten points.

Kaylee Goodpaster was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine boards for North Bay Haven Academy. Goodpaster is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Paicey Millirons, who earned 13 points.

Cornerstone Charter Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for North Bay Haven Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Cornerstone Charter Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 31-28 defeat against Destin on the 20th. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-23 loss against North Murray on the 20th.
