4A Region III District 19 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Kingwood Park's Jaylon Henderson recorded the longest rushing play in 4A Region III District 19 this season in his game against Porter last week. Henderson scampered for 73 yards on the play and finished with 244 on the day as his team defeated the Spartans.
Kingwood Park extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Porter, 56-24. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Reno Moore's team's dynamic duo of Devlin Isadore and Marlon Lewis proved tough for the Panthers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Isadore threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns and Lewis had 112 yards receiving. Charles Sanders helped Porter's passing attack out by catching three balls for 93 yards.
The Spartans' Isadore and Sanders have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Isadore has thrown for 989 yards this season, while Sanders, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has seven catches for 246 yards. Austin Walters from Crosby leads the league in rushing with 553 yards.
A big matchup in 4A Region III District 19 this week will be when Kingwood Park takes on Barbers Hill. The Panthers are in second place, while the Eagles are in fourth place.
Summer Creek moved up to 151 from 367 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of a 64-0 win over New Caney.
