After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sarasota, the George Jenkins Eagles were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They came out on top against Tampa Bay Tech by a score of 41-28.
George Jenkins' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marykate Benham, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Taleah Turner, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
The victory got George Jenkins back to even at 6-6. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. George Jenkins and Seffner Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Seffner Christian is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Tampa Bay Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Strawberry Crest at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th.
