Windsor Academy is 9-1 against Twiggs Academy since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Windsor Academy Knights will be playing at home against the Twiggs Academy Trojans at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Windsor Academy lost to Strong Rock Christian on the road by a decisive 55-41 margin.
Despite their defeat, Windsor Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Reed Barr, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Barr scored a full 39% of Windsor Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mason Merrit was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Twiggs Academy, who are still winless after their fourth game. They fell 61-54 to Crisp Academy on Thursday.
Josh Nobles put forth a good effort for the losing side as he shot 5-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Athen Taylor, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Windsor Academy to 1-1 and Strong Rock Christian to 6-0.
Everything came up roses for Windsor Academy against Twiggs Academy in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 90-48 victory. Will Windsor Academy repeat their success, or does Twiggs Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
