The McQueen Lancers''s game on Friday was all tied up 3-3 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They received a tough blow as they fell 21-3 to Reno. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for McQueen in their matchups with Reno: they've now lost three in a row.
Carl "Tre" LaGrone III rushed for 92 yards on only 12 carries.
Reno can attribute much of their success to Jackson Sellers, who rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding McQueen to a paltry 180 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Reno's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Cody Fisher and his two sacks.
McQueen has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Reno, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
McQueen will head out on the road to face off against Reno at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Reno is ranked 26th, while McQueen is ranked 28th). As for Reno, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McQueen at 6:00 p.m.
