Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Bolles

Bolles came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Nease Golden Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Rylan Baker and Gray McCarthy were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Baker tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, McCarthy struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Baker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Baker went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while McCarthy went 1-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Denzel Del Valle Delgado was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Flowers, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Bolles kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Bolles' record now sits at 15-6. As for Nease, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bolles will host Parkview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 4.1, the Panthers 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Nease, they will be playing in front of their home fans against University Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Christians have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
