The Stevenson Patriots fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Libertyville by a score of 35-28 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Stevenson, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stevenson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aidan Crawley, who threw for 228 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Armand Burris did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Libertyville's loss came despite strong showings from Quinn Schambow and Stevan Gavric. Schambow threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns, while Gavric picked up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Schambow is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played.
Stevenson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Libertyville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Stevenson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Libertyville will head out on the road to face off against Cary-Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
