Softball Recap: Princeton's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Princeton had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Goldsboro Cougars on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mary Rachel Uzzell was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Uzzell was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kaylee Mitchell was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Caroline Waller, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

The victory got Princeton back to even at 4-4. As for Goldsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Princeton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Goldsboro: the pair will be back at it again later today.
