Hagerty has gone a perfect 10-0 against Timber Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Huskies will face off against the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Hagerty will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Hagerty is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Colonial a 15-0 shutout. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Ella Verne looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Hagerty let Ana Roman and Alexandra Beldowicz run wild. Roman went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Beldowicz went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Beldowicz has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Campbell Downing, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
Hagerty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Timber Creek can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Winter Park by a score of 3-0.
Not much got past Gabbi Scott, who gave up just four hits to keep Winter Park off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eva Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Hagerty is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Timber Creek, their record is now 10-11.
Hagerty was able to grind out a solid win over Timber Creek in their previous matchup back in February, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
