Carrick is a perfect 7-0 against Perry Traditional Academy since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Eli Wittmann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for Carrick: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 3-5 otherwise. Wittmann was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Riley Mares and Luzay Watson did most of the damage at the plate: Mares got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Watson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Carrick is undefeated when Watson posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelly Maxwell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Carrick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Perry Traditional Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Carrick has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Perry Traditional Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Carrick keep running through batters, or will the Commodores buck the trend?
