Thomas County Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tia Floyd, who scored 15 points along with six steals. The match was Floyd's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Travesha Giddens was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Thomasville's loss came despite strong showings from Rhaniya Wilson and Ma'khia Banks. Wilson scored five points along with seven rebounds, while Banks scored six points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Banks pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Thomas County Central's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Thomasville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Thomas County Central and Early County will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at. One thing working in Early County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. Thomasville will finish 2023 at home by hosting Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
