This season hasn't been kind to the Greenback Cherokees, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They lost to Oliver Springs on the road by a decisive 62-47 margin on Monday. Greenback lost against Oliver Springs in their previous head to head last Thursday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-39 score last time.
Oliver Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Jones, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The contest was Jones' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Adkins, who scored 16 points.
Greenback bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Oliver Springs, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenback will face off against Tellico Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Tellico Plains' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. Oliver Springs won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Harriman at 8:00 p.m. on December 5th. Harriman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Oliver Springs in Tennessee (Harriman is ranked 42nd, while Oliver Springs is ranked 254th).
