Basketball Recap: Laney Drops Season-High Score on Lakeside

Laney was handed a 42-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lakeside Panthers 54-52. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Walker, who posted 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Bower, who put up 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

The win got Laney back to even at 2-2. As for Lakeside, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Laney will be taking part in a tournament against Westminster Schools of Augusta at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lakeside, they will face off against Trinity Christian at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
