After flying high against Pleasant Valley on Friday, Cedar Bluff came back down to earth. The Tigers took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ashville Bulldogs on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-46 back in December of 2025.
Ashville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hailey Gray out in front who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Gray a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Talisha Samaniego, who put up ten points along with seven boards and three steals.
Cedar Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Ashville, they moved to 7-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Cedar Bluff will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gaston at 5:30 p.m. on the 23rd. Ashville has already played their next contest (against Oneonta), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
