Softball Recap: Stadium Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Stadium took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Auburn Riverside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Ravens 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the match before.

Kylie Mick and London Kim did most of the damage at the plate: Mick went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Kim went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Those three RBI gave Mick a new career-high. Jaynie Galindo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Stadium pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Auburn Riverside, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-6 record.

Coming up, Stadium will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Rainier at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Auburn Riverside, they will challenge Tahoma at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Ravens surely won't give up without a fight.
