Albertus Magnus is a perfect 6-0 against Ardsley since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Falcons will welcome the Panthers at 4:30 p.m.
Albertus Magnus managed to slip by Clarkstown South the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Falcons came up short against the Vikings on Saturday, falling 11-2.
Albertus Magnus saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Wein, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ardsley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Hendrick Hudson by a score of 7-4 on Wednesday.
Will Liu made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Steven Degree was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Jesse Jaeger was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Ardsley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Albertus Magnus, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Albertus Magnus took their win against Ardsley when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
