Breckenridge hasn't had much luck against Coleman recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Comets at 4:00 p.m. Coleman took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Breckenridge, who comes in off a win.
While Breckenridge's win against St. Charles wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 10-9 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since April 19, 2024.
Adyson Collins was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, Emma Tinson was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Ava Colthorp was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Coleman came up short against Benzie Central on Tuesday and fell 12-9. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eliza Lewis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kendall Allen, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
The win got Breckenridge back to even at 6-6. As for Coleman, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
