This season hasn't been kind to the Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They suffered a rough 87-62 loss at the hands of Sports Leadership & Management on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Schoolhouse Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Sports Leadership & Management is ranked 182nd).
Despite the loss, Schoolhouse Prep still got an impressive performance from Hector Samaniego, who scored 24 points. The match was Samaniego's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Christian Torres was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Schoolhouse Prep bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Sports Leadership & Management, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Schoolhouse Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mater Academy Charter on December 13th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Ethan Davis and Samaniego. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will be playing at home against Somerset Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Somerset Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
