The Powdersville Patriots will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Belton-Honea Path Bears at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Powdersville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
Powdersville scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They breezed by Palmetto on the road to the tune of 85-50. Powdersville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Powdersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaleel McGee, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Hurst, who scored 14 points.
Belton-Honea Path suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 90-48 loss at the hands of Wren. Belton-Honea Path was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-22.
Powdersville's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Belton-Honea Path, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
Powdersville took their win against Belton-Honea Path in their previous matchup on January 5th by a conclusive 76-53. With Powdersville ahead 45-25 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
