The Caldwell Chiefs will be playing at home against the Millburn Millers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Saturday, Caldwell didn't have too much trouble with Becton on the road as they won 66-52. Given Caldwell's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Becton is ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Millburn entered their tilt with Fair Lawn with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Millburn enjoyed a cozy 59-43 victory over Fair Lawn on Saturday.
Millburn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zach Benmorits, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Benmorits hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. Chase Plotkin was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Caldwell now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Millburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Caldwell skirted past Millburn 48-46 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Caldwell repeat their success, or does Millburn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
