Volleyball Recap: Walnut Grove Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Walnut Grove and Clarke Central, and Walnut Grove kept the tradition alive. The Warriors came out on top against the Gladiators by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

Walnut Grove got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 30-28, 25-9.

Walnut Grove found their leader in sophomore Scout Peterson, who had 12 digs and three aces.

Walnut Grove has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Clarke Central fell to 3-1.

Walnut Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Winder-Barrow on the 21st. As for Clarke Central, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
