The Wells Wells CSD will head out on the road to take on the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Wells suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were beaten by Northville 62-23. While losing is never fun, Wells can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Northville is ranked 107th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Tupper Lake, who are still winless after their sixth game. They took a serious blow against Chazy on Tuesday, falling 55-19. Tupper Lake has not had much luck with Chazy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Wells' loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Tupper Lake, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
Wells strolled past Tupper Lake in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 40-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wells since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
