Windsor Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Heath Woodard out in front who threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns. Woodard's passing game has become a key predictor of the Knights' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-6 otherwise. Dalton Sims was in the mix as well, providing Windsor Academy with two TDs.
Meanwhile, Brentwood came tearing into last Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Gators 48-14. With the War Eagles ahead 41-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Windsor Academy better keep an eye on Abe Williams. He was instrumental in Brentwood's win, rushing for 147 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, while also picking up 62 receiving yards. Williams' longest rush was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Tristan Robinson, who gained 160 total yards and a touchdown.
Brentwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in nine consecutive contests.
Brentwood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Baylor Cobb and Quez Collins.
Windsor Academy's record now sits at 4-7. As for Brentwood, their record is now 9-1.
Windsor Academy was taken down by Brentwood 55-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2017. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
