Basketball Recap: Savannah Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Elkmont over Whitesburg Christian Academy

Elkmont lost against Whitesburg Christian Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Elkmont Red Devils took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors.

Elkmont's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Williams, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Williams has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ester Marcial, who earned seven points and four steals.

Elkmont's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Whitesburg Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Elkmont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 35-16 victory against Asbury on the 10th. As for Whitesburg Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-31 win against Tanner on the 9th.
