The Thomas Sumter Academy Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 62-33 loss at the hands of Northside Christian Academy. Thomas Sumter Academy has not had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Leading Northside Christian Academy to victory were Campbell Childers and Natalie Walke. Childers scored 17 points along with five assists and five steals, while Walke dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Howell, who scored 12 points.
Thomas Sumter Academy dropped their record down to 5-6 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Northside Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Coincidentally, Thomas Sumter Academy and the Crusaders will both be playing the the next time they take the court. Northside Christian Academy will head out to face Palmetto Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Thomas Sumter Academy will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
