Even though the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs scored an imposing 68 points on Saturday, the La Jolla Vikings still came out on top. La Jolla snuck past San Dieguito Academy with a  74-68 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as La Jolla also won the last time the pair played  back in December of 2023.
 La Jolla got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Elijah Vaz out in front who  scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Vaz has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jackson Diehl, who  dropped  a double-double on 12 points and 19  rebounds.
 La Jolla's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for San Dieguito Academy, they are  on a nine-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-13.
 La Jolla will head out on the road to  square off against  Canyon Hills at 6:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in California (Canyon Hills is ranked 406th, while La Jolla is ranked 416th). As for San Dieguito Academy, they will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against Carlsbad at 7:00  p.m. Carlsbad knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully San Dieguito Academy likes a good challenge.
