They took a 72-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mingo Valley Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (55), KIPP Tulsa University Prep still had to take the loss.
Isaiah McLemore was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with three steals for Mingo Valley Christian. That makes it three consecutive games in which McLemore has scored at least a third of Mingo Valley Christian's points. Tyler Neal was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
KIPP Tulsa University Prep bumped their record down to 3-16 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mingo Valley Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP Tulsa University Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than KIPP Tulsa University Prep in Oklahoma (Central is ranked 174th, while KIPP Tulsa University Prep is ranked 351st). As for Mingo Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Oklahoma F at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oklahoma F has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 585 points over their last nine contests.
