In other batting news, Kaylee Long was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Thornton, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
West Middlesex always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Sharpsville came up short against Mercer on Wednesday and fell 8-4. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Sharpsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lillian Morrison, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Sharpsville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for West Middlesex, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
