Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Tri

Tri entered their tilt with Union City on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Indians. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Macey Ballard made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lyla Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Rylan Matthews, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Tri's record is now 12-7. As for Union City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Tri and Union City are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Titans will challenge Edinburgh at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Union City, they will be playing at home against Knightstown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
