The Lake Dallas Falcons are on the road again on Friday and play against the Rider Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lake Dallas had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down Arlington Heights 28-13 on Friday. Given Lake Dallas' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Arlington Heights is ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Dallas' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam McAfee, who rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown. Keonde Henry also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Lake Dallas' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Tanner Moon was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Meanwhile, Rider can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Burges 57-6 on the road. Rider's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Kenji Johnson had a dynamite game for Rider, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Joe Castles was another key contributor, throwing for 117 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.
Lake Dallas' victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Rider, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
