Bloomingdale extended their postseason success on Friday against Horizon. They were the clear victor by a 73-51 margin over the Horizon Hawks. The Bulls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 22 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bloomingdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izellah Kendrick, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards. Kendrick is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelle Mengel, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 14 points and six steals.
Bloomingdale was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Horizon only nine assists.
Horizon's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoe Corjay, who posted seven points along with seven boards and five assists. Emma Andrulouis was another key player, putting up 14 points.
The victory was the tenth in a row for Bloomingdale, bringing their record for this year to 23-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.3 points. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-9.
After both having extra time off, Bloomingdale and Tocoi Creek will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 1:00 p.m. on March 6th. Bloomingdale knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully Tocoi Creek likes a good challenge.
