The Fisher Bunnies will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Fisher focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
Last Monday, Fisher was beaten by Fieldcrest 72-26. Fisher has struggled against Fieldcrest recently, as their matchup on Monday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Fisher got a solid performance out of Jenna Clemmons, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Clemmons is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.
Fisher struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Cerro Gordo/Bement unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of LeRoy by a score of 46-44.
Fisher's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-7. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Fisher lost to Cerro Gordo/Bement on the road by a decisive 44-26 margin when the teams last played on December 2nd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cerro Gordo/Bement's Caroline Hill, who scored 19 points. Now that Fisher knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
