Land O' Lakes has gone 6-1 against Cypress Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Land O' Lakes will face off against Cypress Creek at 6:30 p.m. Land O' Lakes will be strutting in after a victory while Cypress Creek will be coming in after a defeat.
Land O' Lakes is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Charlotte on Saturday. Land O' Lakes never let Charlotte get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.
Miyah Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since March 4th.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaila Mitchell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Mariah Thompson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
Land O' Lakes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Charlotte only posted an OBP of .059.
Meanwhile, Cypress Creek entered their contest against Wesley Chapel on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Cypress Creek fell just short of Wesley Chapel by a score of 3-2. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Emily Bowling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on one hit.
At the plate, Cypress Creek saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Briscoe, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Alijeah Lopez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Land O' Lakes' record now sits at 8-9. As for Cypress Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Land O' Lakes beat Cypress Creek 6-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Land O' Lakes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
