Redwood is a perfect 4-0 against Porterville since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rangers will welcome the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Redwood's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Porterville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Redwood took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Kingsburg a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rangers have posted against the Vikings since March 10, 2018.

Not much got past Jackie Ramirez, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Kingsburg off the board. Ramirez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alexis Rico was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Redwood hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kingsburg struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Porterville). Everything went their way against Delano on Saturday as they made off with a 16-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the contest before.
The team relied heavily on Danika Driver, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddisyn Montecinos, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Redwood pushed their record up to 7-4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Porterville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
Everything went Redwood's way against Porterville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Redwood made off with an 8-0 win. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
