The West Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. West has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
West posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 55-30 margin over Topeka.
Among those leading the charge was Keimani Paul, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Foy, who scored ten points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Basehor-Linwood's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 61-52 to De Soto. While losing is never fun, Basehor-Linwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while De Soto is ranked 12th).
West's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Basehor-Linwood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
West strolled past Basehor-Linwood when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 52-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
