Kenston has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Nordonia Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Kenston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Kenston came up short against Chagrin Falls and fell 44-36.
Despite their defeat, Kenston saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Morgan Cicek, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. Aurora Young was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Nordonia took a serious blow against Stow-Munroe Falls on Friday, falling 64-28. While losing is never fun, Nordonia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while Stow-Munroe Falls is ranked 51st).
Kenston's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Nordonia, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Kenston skirted past Nordonia 51-48 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kenston since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
