Baseball Recap: Flowers Has No Trouble Against Wise

Flowers lost to Wise back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over the Pumas. That looming 17-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Jaguars yet this season.

Marcus Richardson was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Elijah Williams was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Flowers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory (which was Flowers' third in a row) raised their record to 5-15. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wise, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Flowers has already played their next game, a 19-2 defeat against Laurel on the 1st. As for Wise, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-2 loss against Bowie on the 30th.
