Moberly came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Benton Cardinals 12-2. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Moberly's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Benton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Moberly wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Owensville on the 19th. As for Benton, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Maryville at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th.
