The Veritas Christian Eagles can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 47-38 win over Varsity Opponent. The victory was just what Veritas Christian needed coming off of a 74-29 loss in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Gavin Oberzan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaughn Heck, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Veritas Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Varsity Opponent, they bumped their record down to 276-1058-2 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Veritas Christian will take on Wichita Defenders HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Wichita Defenders HomeSchool is ranked 292nd, while Veritas Christian is ranked 305th). As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to square off against Saints Academy School at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
