The Gilman Greyhounds pushed their score all the way to 79 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of New Hope Academy by a score of 82-79. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (67), Gilman still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Hope Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Uriah Augare-Deal, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. Haki Muhammad was another key contributor, scoring 27 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Gilman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for New Hope Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-13.
Gilman will be playing at home against Our Lady of Mount Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. New Hope Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bristol at 4:30 p.m. on January 14th. Bristol is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
