Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Churchland

While Churchland's victory against Maury wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Truckers won by a run and slipped past the Commodores 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Truckers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Autumn Thompson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Churchland saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rori Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Thompson has posted since back in May of 2024. Another was Mahogany Trotter, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Churchland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Maury, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Churchland and Maury will both be playing Manor the next time they take the field. The Truckers will head out to face the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Commodores will host them at 4:30 p.m. on May 9.
